In other words, regardless of its high price, Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro still offers quite a lot and is certainly among the best keyboards out there. It can compete with the keyboards such as the Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED that offers a bit better experience and performance; however, it lacks macro-programmability and offers lower build quality.

On the other hand, there is a large number of wired mechanical keyboards on the market, that offer much more for the money. Although this is a dedicated MMO mouse, with excellent performance in that department, this mouse has also proven its value in ultra-light gaming, FPS gaming, and of course office work. Design

Razer Naga X is a lightweight gaming mouse that holds only 86 grams without the cable and 100 grams with it. This mouse is lighter than any other Naga mouse and comes with an improved optical sensor. Its design makes it a perfect option for large-handed users, while the Speedflex cable, along with the PTFE mouse feet, and tactile thumb grid, makes its use as smooth as possible.
In other words, Razer Naga X offers top-notch performance and everything needed for a good user experience, delivering much more value than its price suggests.

Bad

Luckily, Razer Naga X is generally a very good mouse that doesn’t have any major flaws. However, since this is a more budget-friendly device, savings had to be made, and are mostly presented in the absence of certain features, such as the logo without RGB lighting, as well as the lack of swappable side button panels.

Moreover, its CPI cannot be adjusted with the same level of precision as some of the best FPS mice, while there is also an absence of a tilt feature and a thumbwheel. As already mentioned, this mouse is also very large, which makes it a bit bulky for persons with smaller hands, while its wired-only build is another one of its not-that-welcomed characteristics.

Besides, Razer Naga X also comes with a locked wheel, which prevents infinite scrolling, and very good Synapse 3 software that, unfortunately, doesn’t work with Mac OS, which is certainly another no-no in its inventory that, on the other hand, doesn’t change the fact that this is still one of the best budget-friendly gaming mice out there.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Razer Naga X is a well-built multipurpose mouse that can handle any sort of task thrown at it. It proves its value in almost any gaming genre, especially MMO and FPS gaming, and offers the best possible ratio of quality, performance, and price.

Since this is a more budget-oriented mouse, its performance is below Razer’s more expensive models, such as Naga Trinity and Naga Pro that offer more precision, lower click-latency, and come with swappable button panels. However, Razer Naga X is much lighter, it looks better built and offers better gliding performance, making it much more comfortable to use.

On the other hand, Razer Naga X is generally a better mouse than the Razer DeathAdder V2 that simply offers less for the money, unless you are a dedicated FPS gamer, in which case, its higher dpi sensor rate makes an important difference and makes it worth buying over the Razer Naga X.

In other words, Razer Naga X isn’t for everyone. Nonetheless, if you want an affordable multifunctional, lightweight mouse that will show its best sides in MMO gaming and work that can exploit its high button volume, this device is made for you and another proof that Razor knows what they are doing with their mice.

What it is

To begin with the basics, the Razer Deathadder V2 is built around the hugely popular Deathadder Elite, which in itself was/is the GOAT, and it’s been around since 2016 if memory serves. The V2 comes with a better optical sensor, better (as in more durable) left/right buttons and a smoother (sounds almost impossible) scroll wheel.

Again, according to people who spent their lives reviewing video games, the V2 is the best version of the Deathadder, and even if it may be a tad expensive, it’s definitely worth buying.

Gamers seem to love everything in Razer-made mice since the early 2000s, and if you look at the V2, it “ain’t” hard to understand why: the Deathadder V2 is the definition of customization, performance and ergonomics.

Another great thing about the Deathadder V2 is that it currently retails at less than half its launching price, which makes it the deal of the century, or almost the perfect budget gaming mouse (I’m kidding of course).

Design and Ergonomics

This part is very important if you’re the kind of gamer that spends hours and hours on end playing with himself, and by that I mean the V2 is supremely comfortable to hold, that provided you have average to large hands.

Now, speaking of ergonomics, improving something that was already perfect is a relatively hard to grasp concept, and by that we mean the Elite. However, Razer did it with the V2, and that’s kind of impressive.

Hand positioning is perfect and ergonomic during binge gaming sessions or general (normie) activities, like word processing or web browsing. The palm rest also feels perfect under your palms. We must also mention that the Deathadder V2’s sides have been improved by a makeover via using a more subtle rubber. Rather than bulky hexagonal grips, the texture is tighter and smaller, and yes, I like that, thank you very much.

Speaking of improving an already perfect gaming mouse, this almost always translates into more weight added. Even if we love heavy gear here, because heavy is reliable, you know the drill (build quality and all that), the V2 only weighs 2.9 ounces and measures 1.5 by 2.7 by 5 inches. To make all this information palatable for complete noobs, the Elite weighs 3.7 ounces, so there you have it: progress through technology, amirite?

Finally, I must mention that the Deathadder V2 is a really handsome gaming mouse, and that must count for something.

Features and tech stuff

Let’s begin with some tech stuff, which is highly interesting when it comes to making a purchase decision: the V2 has 2 buttons below the (hold my beer) Instinctive Scroll Wheel (seriously, that’s how they name it), which, by the way, is more aggressively spikey for a better grip. The buttons can adjust DPI settings on the fly, and that’s cool in my book.

On top of that, the V2 comes with no less than 8 programmable buttons, best-in-industry (okay maybe I’m just a fanboy) 70M-click durability Razer Optical Switches that will last you forever, the most flexible and user-friendly Speedflex cable I’ve ever encountered in my short life, and amazing 100% PTFE feet for smoother movement.

Everything’s on the up and up in regard to buttons, switches, cables, sensors, build quality, ergonomics, what have you, including much-needed tweaks here and there compared to the older-gen (Elite). The most important upgrade in my view is the increased sensitivity, due to new Focus+ Optical sensor, an in-house sensor that is outrageously responsive.

Due to the fact that the sensor is accompanied by a 650 inches per second rating, the Deathadder V2’s performance level is, let’s say, more than you’ll ever need even if you’re a pro-gamer.

It’s also interesting to mention (again) the Speedflex cable. No matter how ridiculous this may sound to you, this is actually a big deal. This cable is incredibly flexible, the most flexible I’ve tried on a gaming mouse actually, and that translates into almost zero impact on your mouse movement, even if you’re not familiar with the term “wire management”, as most people.

Also, the new optical (rather than mechanical) left/right buttons are designed to deliver 70 million clicks before getting wasted, compared to 50 million for the Elite. And before you ask, these optical switches use an infrared light beam to register clicks, instead of mechanical switches, so they have lower latency, longer life and deliver fewer misclicks.

Now, if you’re 13 years old, you’ll definitely approve of Razer’s new button on the base that switches between custom profiles for sensitivity and RGB lighting. Everything works through Synapse software, which means you can set up an unlimited number of profiles, and/or store 5 in the on-board memory to use regardless of where you plug in the V2. So yeah, this gaming mouse is travel-friendly.

Performance

To begin with, if you’re serious about gaming, you should pair your V2 with the best gaming pad money can buy. Other than that, everything is at superlative with this baby: the mouse is supremely comfy and grippy, you always feel in control, as the texture revamp we’ve already told you is a complete success in my view, the click action on the new optical switches is responsive and crisp, resistance is there, yet not overwhelming, and basically I doubt Razer could do any better in this regard.

Speed is also nothing short of impressive, as the new 20k DPI sensor is stupid fast, responsive and accurate (I mean that in a good way), and the mouse offers complete control, being miles ahead of its direct competitors. The point being, if you want the quickest mouse available, this is it.

If you want numbers to satisfy your nerd-ego, here it comes: the Razor Deathadder V2 goes up to 20,000 DPI/CPI (16,000), tracks up to 650 inches per second (450), and has a resolution accuracy of 99.6 percent (99.4 percent). The truth is, in real life you won’t be able to tell the difference, but it’s nice to know all these bells and whistles are there, right?

Finally, there’s only one thing I could criticize Razer for: they should’ve made this mouse using more premium materials. That’s no biggie, but a more luxurious casing wouldn’t hurt on my gaming rig. Other than that, this is a marvelous gaming mouse, striking the best balance between usability, price, and features, and comes highly recommended if you’re serious about your gaming.

That was a bold claim, and that’s why we decided to make a Logitech G613 review four years later. To begin with, we must tell you that the G613 is a very strange thing from inception, as Logitech aimed it at gamers looking for a lightning-fast wireless mechanical keyboard.

At this point we must notice that the gaming community is known for its clinging to low latency (wired) connections, such as wired mice and keyboards, so yeah, the G613 seems a little bit odd.

However, Logitech did a great job in the “latency department”, and by that we mean Lightspeed wireless technology, a proprietary thing that together with the legendary Romer-G switches and the usual rugged build quality make the G613 a fantastic gaming keyboard, which works great for both work and fun (gaming and typing).

Speaking of odd things, the G613 doesn’t have a USB pass-through (this is a gaming-centric keyboard, remember?), and, strangely enough, it lacks backlighting. But, if you’re looking for one of the best wireless keyboards known to man, keep reading.

Design, build and features

Just like any other wireless keyboard, the Logitech G613 is a massive beast. By massive, we mean it weighs almost 1.5 kilograms with batteries, and it’s 216 mm wide. Like in, this is a big boy ladies and gents, a man’s keyboard, and truth be told, the Logitech is significantly larger and heavier than some of its competitors (cough, Corsair K63, cough).

But, heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and you can always use the keyboard to beat up your rogue team members during LAN parties, so there are no complaints here, we just had to mention it.

The extra real estate was put to good use by Logitech, as the G613 comes with 6 macro keys on the left and discrete media controls located on the top-left. Again, we must wonder why on Earth Logitech failed to implement a backlighting system (not RGB, mind you) in this fellow, but hey, we’re just simpletons who enjoy playing games in the dark, not R&D developers for multi-billion dollar corporations.

Also, the lack of a USB pass-through is disturbing in a state of the art gaming keyboard, but truth be told, considering how well the keyboard delivers in all the other areas, we’ll give Logitech a pass on these brain-farts. Just don’t do it again, ok Logitech?

The keyboard is well built, feels solid, and has virtually zero flex while typing; even the palm rest is well designed and ergonomic, and it will keep your wrists relaxed even during prolonged gaming/writing sessions.

Setting up the keyboard is incredibly easy thanks to Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless support and Bluetooth; the Bluetooth thing means that you can connect the keyboard instantly to most tablets and laptops, but if you want to get the most out of the G613, you must use the Lightspeed connection.

To do so, you’ll have to “sacrifice” a USB 3.0 port for the Lightspeed dongle, but if you want 1 ms latency, this is the way to go.

Performance

Now that we’re in the performance section, we must tell you a few things about Lightspeed. According to Logitech, and we have no reason to doubt them, this proprietary technology is the best there is and it allows you to play games wirelessly while having almost zero latency.

Almost zero means one millisecond, and before you ask, you cannot “feel” a millisecond even if you’re a Formula 1 race driver. So, in real world, we can safely say that the G613 is a zero latency wireless keyboard. If you want to split hairs with Logitech, you’ll be doing it on your own peril, as there are armies of fanboys ready to cross swords with you on internet forums over one lousy millisecond.

Speaking of real life experiences, if you sit 5 yards from your PC with the connection set to Lightspeed, the keyboard will register every command instantaneously. Another cool thing about the G613 is the Romer pedigree, as in you’ll get arguably the world’s best mechanical switches, the Romer G respectively, another in-house developed technology from Logitech.

Some of you peasants may argue that the Red Cherry MX are the best mechanical switches for gamers, but every Logitech fanboy knows that’s not true, alright? /s

To be perfectly honest, the Romer G switches are custom tech developed by Omron AND Logitech, but forget about it. What you must remember is that in terms of performance, these switches run with the best, being designed to have a 1.5 mm actuation point, a shorter travel distance compared to regular keyboards, as well as an actuation force of 45 g.

To give you an idea, the Romer G are noticeably quieter and have a springier action than the Red Cherry MX, and overall, the keyboard is phenomenal for both hardcore gamers and avid typists, like yours truly.

The only criticism performance wise regards the macro keys, and what really sucks about it is that you don’t have an on-board profiling option, as in there’s no way to manually switch to them directly on the keyboard. You can create as many profiles as you want via Logitech’s desktop gaming software, but if you’re the kind of guy or gal who regularly switches profiles while playing MOBAs, well, this will definitely piss you off.

Final words

If you’ve made it this far, we must say: congrats, you’re a true geek. Seriously speaking, the Logitech G613 is an outstanding wireless mechanical keyboard, that offers a fantastic gaming experience and its custom switches are better than most when it comes to typing.

So, if you’re looking for a wireless keyboard for both work and leisure, the G613 comes highly recommended.

What’s very special about this mouse is that it offers a lot of features and performance for a relatively affordable price, which is curious since the G502 Hero is not designed as a budget gaming mouse, yet performance-wise, it runs with the best as far as gaming gear is concerned.

And that makes it highly desirable for both professional gamers and total noobs looking for the best bang for the buck. Speaking of Logitech peripherals, even I use a combo consisting of a Logitech G203 mouse and a Logitech K 740 keyboard (mostly for writing purposes, obviously), so yeah, this is a fanboy’s review as far as I am concerned.

The Logitech G502 Hero is one of the models that started the madness when it comes to the G502 series, and it’s maybe the best quality vs price option on the market right now. And that’s not just me speaking, but the statistics, including sales figures, which show that the G502 is the best-selling gaming mouse in the world.

What makes the Logitech G502 Hero so special?

Logitech has never shied away from designing extraordinary (even eccentric) products, as in non-conformist, with asymmetrical shapes, which seem to be taken out of SF movies rather than from the store shelf.

And the same goes for the Logitech G502 Hero, a weird looking gaming mouse that features an “abnormal” design so to speak, at least for some people, and tons of buttons. But our hero somehow manages to be very elegant when it wants, and I think the most important thing about it is that it is amazingly comfortable.

I must also bring into light the comfort factor in a gaming peripheral used for hours and hours in a row; obviously, ergonomics are very important in any respectable gamer’s book, and in this regard the Logitech G502, whatever model I’ve ever used, behaved exemplary.

A few words about the Hero particle: in case you’re not up to date with tech news, the G502 Hero uses Logitech’s in-house made sensor, a 16,000 DPI variety respectively, which is light-years away from its competitors, like let’s say PixArt’s PMW3389.
It’s a known fact that haters used to criticize Logitech’s decision to use in-house sensors, but after all’s said and done, the Hero proved itself to be one of the best in the world.

What does a well-built mouse means today?

Finding a suitable mouse has recently become a rather difficult process, or we should say a lost art. And that’s maybe due to the plethora of models available, or because there are not many reviewers who can recommend a single model that is good for everyone.

This is why we must mention the build-quality thing. Maybe some of you prefer models with a perforated case like Glorious Model O, or maybe you don’t want something too complicated and you are satisfied with the classic shape made famous by Microsoft’s Intellimouse and adopted by many other manufacturers later.

Personally, I’ve tried everything (this is what I do, I review stuff), but the Logitech G502 has something special. I do not know what this is; maybe the shape, maybe the materials used, but even if I wanted to, I couldn’t get rid of it.

The Logitech G502 Hero (like all models in the series by the way) is made of a very durable plastic. The grip is also pleasant thanks to the rubber used on the sides, and the biggest advantage of this model remains in my view, the scroll wheel.

The Hero model, compared to the Lightspeed that I also used as a daily driver for a few months, has a metal wheel that seems a bit more resistant. It still keeps the infinite scroll function and the left-right navigation in the page. At least for work, this seems to be the best combination.

I use text and photo editors, and with this mouse I can work on them without problems. And the good part is that at the end of the day, I don’t have to take the gaming mouse out of the drawer; as it’s already on the desk and I’ve been working with it all day.

A Solid Mouse

I like to be in control, some may even call me a control freak, as in I want to be able to personalize as much as I like both my working and playing experience. Sometimes I feel the need for a heavier mouse, and the fact that the Logitech G502 Hero allows me to adjust its weight is a big plus.

Okay, many noodle-arm geeks would consider this mouse a “heavy” one, or a “total unit” (weighs 121 grams stock), even without the extra weights (18 grams). Compared to girl-models weighing only 60-70 grams, this can be described as a “heavy” mouse. But I don’t mind its weight to be honest, and I’m convinced I’m not the only one in this situation. Heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it doesn’t work, you can always hit your opponent with it, right?

Moreover, speaking of tough gear, this is a wired mouse, which means it’s the most durable of the bunch (there’s also a wireless version), as in it will last you forever.

Does the best-selling mouse also mean the best?

It would be a lie to say that the Logitech G502 Hero is the best mouse in the world. Especially in today’s market where you have hundreds of models to choose from and in the end, everything comes down to personal preference.

No, this is not a perfect mouse, and I’ve met people who didn’t love either its weird shape or heavy weight; however, the G502 Hero is a formidable gaming mouse, and I think that the large number of units sold indicates that I am right.

Then there is the issue of notoriety; many people buy products based on recommendations, reviews like this, or the simple fact that their favorite gamer or streamer uses product X; hence the advantage of the Logitech G502 series.

Logitech has managed to win the hearts and minds of many users with this series, and a good product is one that manages to meet and exceed the requirements of as many people as possible; in this category, this model scores rather well.

To put it simply, the Corsair K55 RGB is one of the best budget dedicated gaming keyboards on the market, and on top of that, Corsair is a big brand, which means there are zero issues with reliability, customer service or warranty.

Speaking of gaming keyboards, the latest trend in business seems to be mechanical switches. However, there are caveats to mechanical switches, even if they are generally accepted as being the best for both typing and gaming.

But, some people don’t really dig the annoying clicking noises, or the jaw-dropping price of most high-quality models. Enter Corsair K55, a very affordable membrane gaming keyboard, which comes in a cool design and has high-end features borrowed from the company’s more expensive models.

Shockingly enough, the K55 boasts a budget-friendly price and whisper-quiet membrane switches.

First Impressions

Corsair has a lot of high-end options for keyboards and any other gaming peripherals for that matter, but the K55 really makes a good first impression as a budget option. The first thing you’ll notice is the understated design and the price.

The K55 is an all-plastic affair, as in there are no exotic materials incorporated into its built. Besides the membrane switches you’ll get RGB lighting and effects, as well as on-the-fly macro-recording, which is great.

Moreover, you will appreciate the 6 extra buttons for macros, plus the dedicated media keys. Again, considering the “fifty”-ish asking price, you get a lot of keyboard for the money, which translates into amazing value. This may not be the best keyboard ever made by Corsair, but it definitely has potential.

What’s in the Box

The keyboard arrives in a non-assuming (as in standard) cardboard box, which is thick and sturdy, and actually looks pretty cool. The retail box contains the keyboard itself, a wrist side and a user guide.

Design

This is a full-size 48 cm long keyboard, pretty much identical to other Corsair devices, and at 3.4 cm average depth, it feels between low profile and chunky. Being a membrane keyboard, the K55 uses rubber domes instead of mechanical switches under its keycaps.

The end result is a quieter and softer key press, but by no means spongy, as in there is a certain amount of resistance during gaming or typing. Truth be told, these are some of the best membrane switches ever tested, and they feel pretty close to mechanical ones.

The cherry on top is represented by the 3 RGB lighting zones under the keycaps.

More expensive gaming keyboards feature per key lighting, but this is not the case. However, the RGB lighting system on the K55 is well implemented, with more than adequate diffused glow which fills up space with light.

As we already told you, the K55 is all plastic baby, which is to be expected at this price point. However, build quality is solid, and the keyboard feels, let’s say more expensive than it really is. The problem is that the top is made of glossy plastic, which attracts fingerprints and dust.

The keyboard has good spacing between keycaps and that makes typing a pleasant experience. The key faces are relatively flat, and some people would prefer a more-professional concave edge while typing, but this is a matter of personal taste.

Above the numpad you will find the dedicated media keys, which include buttons for skipping tracks and volume controls. However, the media keys are not illuminated, and that’s a bummer. The 6 dedicated/programmable macro keys are located on the left side, and functionality-wise, they work flawlessly.

Macros can be assigned on-the-fly via the dedicated button at the top, or by using the CUE software. The dedicated button is super easy to use though and works surprisingly well. Binge gamers will appreciate the detachable (rubberized) wrist rest, which is designed to make life easier for your wrist and works well enough, offering nice grip thanks to its textured face.

However, the K55 lacks USB pass-through, which is disappointing but not surprising, i.e. this is one of the downsides of a super-budget-friendly gaming keyboard. The keycaps are built from standard ABS plastic, and even if Corsair doesn’t provide a special tool to remove them, you can do it easily if board-cleaning is needed.

Software

The iCUE software is used on all Corsair products, as it stands for Corsair Utility Engine. This is arguably the best keyboard software in the industry, and it’s pleasantly simple to use when it comes to lighting presets due to its intuitive drop-down menu.

The same story goes with choosing custom colors for all 3 zones via a color-wheel. The software also allows for macro recording, and you get a ton of options, including adding keystroke delays. Even if the K55 doesn’t offer the same customization bells and whistles as its more expensive siblings, the options provided are easy to use and well designed.

Making your personalized light show consists of loading CUE software or using Function key shortcuts, and the available presettings include color shift, rainbow wave effect, static color or color pulse. There are no custom RGB profiles available, unfortunately.

Gaming

Even if this keyboard lacks the highly popular Cherry MX Red mechanical switches, the keys are pretty good in terms of sensitivity and feel. If you’re into FPS games such as Destiny 2 or Overwatch, you’ll appreciate how fast the K55 really is, and also the satisfying bounce back delivered by the keys after actuation.

It must be mentioned that is zero wobble on the Corsair K55, as it’s in the case with other large key membrane boards. Also, getting six macro keys set on a fifty dollar keyboard is unheard of, and this will definitely make MOBA and MMO players happy, especially due to K55’s on-the-fly button.

Conclusion

Considering the fact that this keyboard occasionally drops to $40 on special occasions, and it offers solid build quality and an impressive array of features for the price asked, if you’re looking for a non-mechanical keyboard for typing and gaming on the side, this would make for a great option.

A keyboard gives you an access to all options a PC can provide you with. And if this keyboard is a professional one then you are definitely lucky to get the cream of the crop. Das Keyboard 4 Professional seems to be one of those high-grade products. At least its name sounds like that. But whether it’s true or not – we have to check. First Impression

When you look at this keyboard you have a feeling that it’s the thinnest keyboard you have ever seen before. And you know what? That feeling is absolutely true! Das Keyboard 4 Professional is really the slimmest representative of a keyboard family.

Firstly, there’s no more plastic cover as this keyboard has luxurious aluminium plate what makes it look stylish and elegant. And note that such modern look is well-combined with readable key cap font, which was specially designed to provide you with easy reading and unobtrusive view of the keyboard.

Secondly, this German-engineered brand can’t but make you trust it as it has already gained a reputation of high-quality manufacturer. Add to this a range of updated options and you get something really worth trying it.

Technical side

Das Keyboard 4 Professional has mechanical Cherry MX Blue key switches with laser etched key inscriptions on ABS plastic. These gold-plated switches create the distinct click of each keystroke and have much better tactile and audible feedback than other models. Note that these switches can last up to 50 million keystrokes. The plastic itself is dyed in black, so there is less risk of yellowing effect which usually occurs after the UV rays affect.

By the way, such feedback helps to increase typing speed as there’s no need to push the keys to the very down. As to the gold-plated switches, they are responsible for best contact and typing experience. The point is that gold does not rust, so it is perfect to create durable switches.

Under each larger key there is installed Costar stabilizer. However, we could feel some squeaks when pressing a Shift key fast. Such squeaks indicate that a stabilizer bar wasn’t lubricated properly. Still, we cannot say for sure whether we’ve got such one, or it is a typical feature for all Das Keyboard 4 Professional models, and we won’t.

As we have mentioned above there is an improved panel made of anodized aluminum what makes this keyboard a durable one. Das Keyboard 4 Professional has also got a magnetic footbar which inclines it to make a 4-degree angle. What is this it for? The point is that such angle doubles as a ruler which can be used instead of common flip-out fee.

Its super-speed USB 30 hub has a two-port 5Gb/s hub which is suitable for fast high-resolution picture and video file transfers between USB devices. And if you need nice speed for gaming then we have great news for you! Das Keyboard 4 Professional is equipped with N-key rollover (NKRO) over USB. It means that you won’t need a PS2 adapter like with older keyboard versions. NKRO is a useful option not only for gaming but also programming or anything else that requires fast speed. All you need to turn NKRO on is to press shift + mute. Keep in mind that full N-key rollover works only with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

What we really like about this keyboard is how functional it is. Das Keyboard 4 Professional knows how to make your life easier, simpler and less stressful. For example, there is an over-sized volume knob as well as dedicated media controls thanks to which you can adjust volume during Skype calls, while listening to music (online streaming as well) and using Google hangout. Besides, there is an instant sleep button which switches computer into a sleep mode. Thus, you can save energy just with a slight move of your finger.

The second thing which makes this keyboard so much attractive is its flexible character. If you need only 3ft of cable it’s OK, as all keyboards can offer this. But what if there’s much longer distance to cover between a keyboard and your PC? Das Keyboard 4 Professional won’t consider it as a stumbling block. This keyboard has extra long 6.5 ft cable with single USB type-A connector, so you can extend it anywhere you need it for.

Das Keyboard 4 Professional is a flexible product. It can adjust to different conditions due to its cable length, instant buttons and several USB ports (1.1/2.0/3.0). What is more, it is compatible with the most popular operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Mac and even ChromeOS. This keyboard is firmware adaptable too and doesn’t need any drivers.

By the way, there is no backlighting. On the one hand, it’s a true trouble for night owls but on the other one, it brings certain positive moments. And the main one concerns USB ports. Usually keyboards that have USB pass-throughs and backlighting need two ports to support both options. But if there’s no backlighting you get an additional USB plug for extra power, which is so important for those who want to increase the number of available ports.

Summary

On the whole, Das Keyboard 4 Professional is a hefty mechanical keyboard comfortable in use and pleasant to look at. Of course, it’s not ideal and has certain minuses but the number of pluses proves that this product deserves to be chosen as one of the best keyboards for gaming or any other purpose that requires fast and accurate performance.

So, you can guess that PC cases are also one of those products which have been constantly improved and updated. Cool Master provides a number of cases to choose from which vary in their size, options and price, and this review is namely about one of them – CM Storm Scout 2.

First impression

Before you open a side panel of any case you can already decide whether you like it or not just looking at its design. Obviously, that first impression may not coincide with your final verdict but it can affect your further actions towards the case.

CM Storm Scout 2 has a round futuristic theme, so if you prefer stuff like that then this case is definitely worth your attention. This mid-tower computer chassis has stylish steel reinforced carrying handles bolted to support beams of the core structure. Note that they have rubber coating and are rather strong (can handle up to 30 kg), what makes transportation easy and convenient. In fact, you will experience this from the very first second of case unpacking.

What is more, the corpus itself is quite flexible and thanks to this Scout 2 is very durable. This chassis takes into account all possible pitfalls, so its front I/O panel is fully steel and hidden behind the extra panel. By the by, except for front I/O there are power/reset switches as well as control for LED.

There is also a side panel window, which shows only the best part of the case inside. There you won’t see any optical or hard drives. Instead, you will enjoy a great view of CPU, memory and graphics cards. Behind the window there are also metal fan drills as a part of advanced cooling system.

Cooling System

Looking at CM Storm Scout 2 you will see that there are enough fan mounts to keep all PC elements cooled. This computer can support up to 9 fans including enlarged vents what plays a great part in cooling performance.

Now let’s have a closer look at Scout 2 cooling system. First of all, there are two 120 red LED fans, which can be controlled with a light push of the button on the front panel. Keep in mind that front panel can have either two 120mm fans or just one 140mm fan.

There is 120mm fan in the bottom of the case as well as one more fan on its top to release heat. By the by, you can also add two more CM fans as Scout 2 has optional dual 120mm fan mounts on the acrylic side panel window with mesh design for optimized airflow. Besides, you can place one more fan in HDD cage.

To keep your case always clean CM Storm Scout 2 has a convenient slide-out dust filter under PSU. There are also some more additional filters at the top, front and bottom of the case. But bear in mind, that if you involve all fans and fan mounts into your PC performance you can be annoyed by the noise they produce.

Well, CM Storm Scout isn’t as super quiet as Antec Sonata IV, but its cooling options are more than just impressive. Still, if you need silence you can either choose a pre-cited Sonata product or wait for the release of the newest Cooler Master models such as Cosmos C700P or MasterCase H500P.

By the way, choosing a CPU cooler for Scout 2, keep in mind that this chassis can host only those with 6.4-inch size.

Drive Bays and HDDs

This CM mid-tower case has 7 HDD bays including one 2.5-inch bracket. There are seven internal 3.5-inch bays, three of which are removable, and three external 5.25-inch bays placed on the front of the case behind the filtered layer. Note that you can also convert one 3.5-inch bay into two 2.5-inch bays.

By the by, Scout 2 has a removable HDD cage for long graphics card installation and supports up to 3 ODD tool-free bays. Furthermore, this computer chassis is SDD compatible and can host up to two SDDs.

Ports and Expansion Slots

Scout 2 has two USB 3.0 ports for fast smartphone and tablet charging, and file transfer. Besides, there are two USB 2.0 ports. As a typical PC case, this chassis has also got audio in/out ports. As to the expansion slots, there are seven of them.

PSU, Motherboards and Graphics Cards

As to the PSU, Scout 2 supports PS2 placed on the bottom mount of the case. This CM case is not only made of flexible material, it has also got a flexible inside build. The point is that this computer chassis can host any high-grade hardware of any size. Thanks to the removable HDD cage Scout 2 can support any NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards.

All you have to do to add a longer card is to remove the first HDD cage. Note that the maximum length of the card with HDD cage is 11.3 inches, and 15.7 inches without it. Scout 2 can also host micro-ATX as well as ATX motherboards.

Cable management and tool-free installation

Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 is one of those cases which are simple and easy to use. Choosing this chassis you will experience nice cable management, which includes plenty of rubber grommets to prevent any cable damages. Besides, this case presupposes tool-free installation as well.

Summary

Cooler Master knows what it does and Scout 2 can prove this. The case itself is good-looking without any sharp edges. There are great handles, so you can easily transport it wherever you want.

Choosing this PC case you can count on top-notch cooling performance and select any graphics card you like as there are no strict size limits. Still, remember that if you are looking for silence then this case won’t be the best choice.
