The software is really good. However, I met (probably) the most arrogant client-service in my 37 years as an IT specialist – at VueScan. I bought the software and asked for an invoice with a company reg. num. – what the company apparently does not have – and since I’m in Europe, this is required. I received an email. Append feature is missing in some software. The companies don’t seem to list as a feature, but I know VueScan has it. Is there anyway to figure out who else has this feature?

I just needed something simple and free which allowed me to rearrange pages, because my Brother did not come with duplex scanning and their software does not allow you to put multiple scan jobs in the same PDF. NAPS2 was exactly what I needed. Thanks for the article.

Hello:
I´m inexpert about scanner hardware and software.
I have many thousands of photos named QSLs cards.
QSL is actually shorthand for “confirmation of contact” in amateur radio

i am needing suggestions for chose best software and hardware for my proposals,
Really I don’t know, how to use special software with any scanner.
I guess anyone could be compatible with any scanner.
Any help will welcome.

The two photo scanning software VueScan and Scanspeeder are just free trials, so they are not really free. I think it’s rather misleading to list them as free sofware on this list.

Chris, I’m desperate to find a software which can do what Kodak Picture Saver system does. It controls both a high speed batch scanner and flatbed simultaneously. I can do photos up to 8 x 10 on the batch scanner and larger or older photos on an A3 size flatbed. I can switch back and forth with a single click and the scans stay in order. Want to investigate other companies’ hardware. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I’d even be willing to pay someone a reasonable amount of money to write similar software which could be used with alternate brand scanners.

By the way, we use NAP2 for documents and love it.
