Quality is excellent, I just don’t undestand why they are so large. The CH Flightstick Pro ist the only with reasonable ergonomics.

Since gamepads like the MS XBOX 360 controllers work on Android, most regular USB sticks should work, too.

The Thrustmaster 16000 is actually very reliable, its problem are the TERRIBLE ergonomics. Same issue like with CH products. Who is using those? Basketball players? And 12 buttons on the base even spread on both sides with little way to distinguish them without looking must be the DUMBEST button layout design EVER. A slimmer stick, 2 more 4-way hats instead of those side buttons on the top of the stick, a dual stage trigger and at least it would be a no brainer for its money. Wake up, Thrustmaster!

The Gladiator is VKB’s entry-level stick, and it utterly blows away everything in its price range.. Virpil doesn’t really have anything comparable to it. Especially considering the inflated prices on mass-market sticks right now, there is no reason to waste money on one of those when you could have the Gladiator NXT.
The VKB product that is truly equivalent to the Mongoose T-50CM2, however, would be the Gunfighter Mk. III Modern Combat Edition. That said, having both the MCG Pro and the Kosmosima premium grips, I would actually recommend the Gunfighter Mk. III Space Combat Edition to most users looking for a top-end stick; the grip has almost as many functions (one less analog mini-stick, and one less button, basically) and is far more ergonomic for anyone who doesn’t have enormous hands (I do have pretty large hands, and I still find the Kosmosima grip a bit more comfortable, though I have to remove the palm rest from it or it gets a little cramped). That said, both are first-rate hardware.
Also, the build quailty on the VKB sticks is substantially better anything else on this list. Virpil products are head and shoulders above all the mainstream stuff, but VKB is in a class above that. If you have any doubt of this, go find some reviews that actually open up the grips and look at the internals. The difference–how carefully constructed the VKB grips are–is readily apparent.
That said, Virpil’s sticks are still much better than any of the mainstream stuff. I have a WarBRD base with a T-50 LH grip, and while I don’t like it quite as much as my Gunfighter, it’s not far behind. It’s leaps and bounds better than the Warthog stick with its cheap plastic gimbal in any case

Hi,

It should. It was compatible with previous Flight Simulators so we’d expect it to work fine. Though it’s not on the list of recommended joysticks by Microsoft https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015912899-Peripherals-compatibility.

No you don’t You have the Mk1. The Mk2 and the now Gladiator K are significantly better than everything on this list shy of the Gladiator Mk1. The updates to Mk2 and K are a lot better than Mk1 though. Thrustmaster 16000M is a piece of junk that falls apart constantly and Logitech software is a nightmare.

No you do not have to build a complete cockpit. All the Virpil, VKB and WinWing sticks have desk mounts. All throttles except for Winwing are desk mountable. Yes these are at the top end but announcing that the TM Warthog is the best is just poor research. Oh and you get what you pay for!!!!

These products might be fine if you are building a complete sim-cockpit, but for the average gamer this is WAY out of scope. The Virpil product line requires permanent mounting and requires the purchase of a base and a grip. The Bases (listed in Pounds) start around $240US and the grips do start a bit cheaper the one you want is about the same price. So $500US for a joystick. I didn’t look at the price for the throttle or rudders. Seriously? So I can play Star Citizen whenever it’s actually released? Or Elite Dangerous when it stops being a bad game? Come on. And for my $500US I still have to mount and assemble the stick? I didn’t look at driver support and/or connectivity. I think we can tell where the bad joke is.
