The correct model number is DHP-P701AV, the extra “P” denoting it’s socket passthrough capability versus the standard DHP-701AV which doesn’t contain the passthrough sockets.

A quick Google search will clue you in to this fact, since searching for DHP-7101AV only brings back one exact match – the article on this website.

Also, D-Link’s own website only list two AV2-2000 class Powerline adapters: The DHP-701AV and the DHP-P701AV.

The subject is somewhat moot anyway, as it looks as if D-Link have stopped making them as the few places here in the UK I found selling these, are charging INSANE amounts of money for them. Which in my experience, usually means the product is EOL (They were 1st released July 2016).

Speed is moot really – If your broadband connection to the internet is at 30, 40, 50Mb, and given that most connectivity requirements are home internet with relatively little p2p inside a house its pretty pointless having 2GB between sockets. Yes, there will be SOME in home intra device, but not MOST.

You may want to try something like this https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AV1300-Powerline-WiFi-Extender/dp/B076CYV2XH/ (with Wifi built-in).
Note, that the speed still depends on the distance between the two adapters. Also, devices that consume a lot of power may influence the speed if connected to the same circuit.

Mostly for streaming TV. I am using the Fire Stick.
Which would be my best choice for getting this issue successfully accomplished? I have tried a couple of the wireless extenders and doesn’t really do much.

Thank you,
John
